Dr. Carthan graduated from Kettering University in 1978 as an electrical engineer (BSEE). He then went to work for GM Electro-Motive before moving to Rockwell Graphics in 1986. He was called to the preaching ministry in 2001 while serving as a deacon at the Broadview Missionary Baptist Church. Immediately in answering the call Pastor Greg began his studies at the Moody Theological Seminary where he obtained his Masters of Divinity (MDiv).  Pastor Greg has also completed his doctorate at Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas.

Pastor Greg has been married for more than 40 years to his High School sweet-heart, Doreen. They have three (3) adult children, Greg Jr (Rachel), Kristal (Kelton), and Jeff. They are also the proud grandparents of six healthy children.

Pastor has held many positions in the church including Sunday School teacher (Youth and Adult), marriage counselor and instructor for Discipleship training. He has also held church administrative positions such as Sunday School Director, General Church Training Director and Director of Pastoral Counseling.
